Mechanical Technician.
- Involved in the development and production of
compact and midsize road sweepers.
- Responsible for the build and testing of new
products for introduction into production.
- Working with engineers to improve design and fault
find on new designs, recommending design changes, including the
successful introduction of new product lines to production
- Other responsibilities include raising quality
reports and liaison with suppliers on items such as the cabs
- I am also responsible for the quality of the build
to insure that all assembly is to a high standard.
- Other skills gained include AutoCad R14, of which I
have received training over the last year, including solids modelling.

Mechanical Technician - Reliability Department.
- Worked as a member of the reliability department on
immunodiagnostic instruments.
- Responsible for the reliability testing of
mechanical assemblies, including xyz arms, vortexers, carousels, cuvette
transporters, and pneumatic assemblies.
- Tasks performed included the writing of test
specifications and procedures, the design of test equipment, the running
of reliability endurance and growth tests, caring out functional tests,
investigating test failures, analysis of test data, and the writing of
test reports.
- Other responsibilities included caring out FMECAs,
limits of variance testing, Attending failure review meetings, liaison
with project groups. I was also involved with the setting up of
department procedures for BS 5750 approval.
- Additional skills gained include the use of
spreadsheets (Lotus 123) and word processors (Word perfect).

- Experience gained in production engineering as a
member of a team working on a range of established precision gyroscopes.
Involved in various production problems, including improving and setting
up of production processes, raising new production process instructions,
investigating inbuild faults, analysis of final test results, and
recommending rework actions.
